Info on Crewing

We want to thank our friend Micah Hirokawa, who Jill met (well his wife Eliza) while running the loop around Enchanted Lake in Kailua, for designing the graphics for our boat name.

HONU KAI

Hawaiian for Sea Turtle or Turtle Bay.  Our daughter Leslie named the boat as she loves Turtles.  And especially loved swimming with the large Sea Turtles on the Big Island.  Hawaii has had a big influence on our family.  Jill and I were both living in Hawaii when we married and we have lived on Oahu for a little over five of the last fifteen years.  Our children were all with us for two of those years and attended school in Kailua.  Study of the Ancient Hawaiian mariners also influenced our purchase of a Catamaran.
